Whirl-Mart
January 29th, 2007 at 20:51Recently the author of this blog over here suggested that the denial-of-service attack idea could be used as a model for real-life protesting. I thought, “now that could surely work,” and wondered why I’d never heard of anything like that (except maybe this or this). Tonight, however, at the Charlottetown stop of the Wal-Town tour, it came up twice during the post-film discussion: (1) the Whirl-Mart (and a variation where you put stuff in your cart, but only to take it to a cashier and explain why you won’t be buying it); and (2) simultaneous and repeated price-check requests by a organized crew of scores of protestor-shoppers, tying up all staff.
