Little Sister’s

January 20th, 2007 at 12:28

There’s a famous GLBT&c bookstore called Little Sister’s on Davie Street in Vancouver.  There’s also a famous 2003 decision from the Supreme Court of Canada that says that Canadian courts can order the government to advance private litigants the costs necessary to bring public interest claims.  Little Sister’s said it should get one of those advances.  Yesterday, the SCC said no.

When we visited that bookstore, a customer (I assume a regular) was asking The Man Behind The Counter about “the case.” My evesdropping garnered enough details to conclude that it was a legal matter (as opposed to an item of storage), but the actual subject matter eluded me. Thanks for clearing that up.
